During the transitional period, how can I differentiate deposit products from bottles and cans that do not participate in the deposit?

Products already participating in the deposit system at the beginning of 2025 are clearly labelled with the deposit logo and have been registered with the new GTIN code (formerly EAN code). In this way, they can also be clearly identified by reverse vending machines.

In the transitional period to 31 March 2025, products may be bottled/canned that do not yet participate in the deposit system. These products do not display a deposit logo and are sold without a deposit being charged.

These products may be sold without the levying of a deposit until 31 December 2025.
